A technical tour de force, Acura reintroduced the NSX for 2017 to great anticipation and fanfare. Wholly redesigned from the ground up to be a supercar that could be driven daily, much of the original formula translated into the new car, but the modern NSX also brought a lot of new, key features to the table that were a reminder that the original NSX was aged. Acura pulled the plug on the NSX in the 2022 model year, with just 300 being imported into the U.S. that year, creating a lovely vacuum of supply that supports collectability. This 2020 Acura NSX is finished in Berlina Black and has seen just 1,990 miles, according to its odometer. Power is courtesy of a twin-turbocharged 3.5L hybrid V-6 engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission, which is mated to the Sport Hybrid Super-Handling all-wheel drive system. The combined horsepower of the 3.5L hybrid is 573 HP, enough grunt to turn a 0-60 MPH run in just over 3 seconds. The Red Milano leather interior offers exceptional amenities and luxuries such as dual-zone climate control, a centrally mounted multitouch 4.2-inch LCD screen, navigation, premium surround sound with nine ELS speakers and a subwoofer, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, a telematics and trip computer, a tilt and telescopic steering column, a leather-wrapped performance steering wheel and, of course, sport-engineered bucket seats. Exterior details include color-matched, dual-spoke alloy wheels, a trapezoidal exhaust outlet, black diffuser and angular air intakes at the rear fenders. It all began back in 1984, when Honda started working with the Honda Pininfarina eXperimantal concept car, or, the HPX. The idea was a sports car powered by a midmounted V-6 driving the rear wheels with an exceedingly low drag coefficient, exceptional balance and a high degree of reliability and drivability. The aim was to underprice the Ferrari midengine V-8s of the day while offering similar or even better performance. As the concept evolved, the name changed to New Sportscar eXperimental, or NSX, which stuck. The first generation spanned production from 1990 to 2007, with the second generation becoming available in 2017 and ceasing production in 2022.
