Treated to an extensive, no-expense-spared, frame-off restoration, this 1970 Ford Bronco emerged likely better than new. Finished in Limelight Green with a white top, the Bronco features twin chrome sideview mirrors, a silver grille with bright detailing, chrome bumpers and all the side jewelry, giving it a truly stunning look. Rounding out the overall scene are the raised white-letter, 31-inch BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A off-road radial tires with polished alloy wheels. Powered by a well-dressed 302 CI V-8 engine and a C6 automatic transmission with 4-wheel drive and locking hubs, the chassis was treated to a powdercoated suspension, frame and power boards, a butch 3-inch lift giving the Bronco a stance and overall appearance like few others. Like the rest of the vehicle, the Parchment-colored interior was completely restored. The bucket seats were reupholstered with the factory-correct, two-tone vinyl with patterned inserts, with a custom locking center console providing an armrest and some security, as well as the black dash pad, which looks fresh and new. The dashboard is painted to match the seats and fitted with the proper gauges and switches, a speedometer calibrated to 160 MPH, a modern classically styled radio and a custom steering wheel. It’s equipped with power brakes, and an extensive file of restoration pictures and receipts is included with the Bronco, illustrating the amount of money and effort that went into turning this SUV into the specimen that it is. By 1970, the Ford Bronco was facing some serious competition; not only were the old standards like the Jeep, International, Land Cruiser and Land Rover still skirting at the edges, but Chevrolet and GMC both introduced the Blazer, and there was talk of Dodge and even Plymouth joining the ranks at some point. As such, the days of the classic, original Bronco were numbered. Ford knew it would have to increase the size and comfort levels of the Bronco. But, for the time being, enhanced the original with a number of features along the way, like V-8 engines and automatic transmissions, heaters and air conditioners, radios, more sound deadening and insulation, all creating a more modern, useful SUV. This one, thanks to the extensive restoration, seems to be one of those that could easily be used and enjoyed daily.
