Attention to details is what often separates the best from the rest, and this 1951 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window Pickup is certainly rife with unique and subtle details. Having undergone a frame-off restoration, it emerged in Dark Gray Metallic with just the right amount of chrome and brightwork, such as the grille and front bumper, trim flanking the roll pan, sideview mirrors, door handles and window surrounds, to name just a few of the highlights. The fuel tank was relocated, hidden under the polished wood bed floor along with the filler pipe, furthering the uncluttered look of the body. The BF Goodrich blackwall, radial tires and American Racing Torq Thrust wheels truly complete the look, a modern, dark presence with a classic look. Powered by a GM Performance 6.0L V-8 crate engine built with aluminum heads, a Holley throttle body, an MSD ignition, a billet aluminum Tru-Trac serpentine-belt system and ceramic-coated headers and dual exhaust, the look under the hood is much like the exterior, noir, the smoothed firewall adding even more details to the package. Backed by an automatic transmission, the engine is kept cool courtesy of an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. The body rides on a boxed and powdercoated frame supporting a chassis comprised of a Mustang II front suspension, a Ford 9-inch rear end, coilover shocks, sway bars, Wilwood power 4-wheel disc brakes and a power rack-and- pinion steering system. The interior is a remarkably unique environment, with two- tone Medium and Light Gray upholstery highlighted with red swatches and custom patterning, full carpeting, a tilt steering column with a custom billet steering wheel, Dakota gauges, Vintage Air conditioning, power windows and a Bluetooth stereo system hidden behind the center grille, which is hinged to swing down for access.
