The 1967 model year represented the zenith of everything good from the midyear Corvette, and it has since become perhaps the most sought after of the entire run of Chevrolet’s masterful sports car. One look at this car and it’s easy to see why a heart might skip a beat daydreaming of owning such a machine. With the available potent small-block V-8 or the outlandish power of big-block V-8 engines, the ’67 Corvette could be everything from a lithe road course weapon to a dragstrip king. Most people simply utilized the handling prowess or incredible power on the street. Cruising on a Saturday night among the many muscle cars of the era, there was always a special reverence for the Corvette. Produced on September 12, 1966, and delivered new to Wood Chevrolet in Birmingham, Alabama, this Marlboro Maroon 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible originated with the rare combination of L79 327/350 HP small-block V-8 and factory air conditioning. The product of a body-on restoration, it retains the factory trim tag showing it was originally finished in Silver Pearl paint. It now features newer paint, interior, top, chrome, exhaust and tires, and is currently equipped with a NOM small-block V-8 engine backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and Positraction rear end. It has been additionally treated to a recent suspension rebuild and rides on BF Goodrich Radial Blackwall tires fitted to Rally wheels. Optioned with power steering, aluminized exhaust, Delco AM/FM radio, and a Teakwood steering wheel, it retains most all factory-correct-type components including the spare tire, jack and jack tools, seat belts, shifter, shielding, air cleaner, hoses, hose clamps, expansion tank, gas door assembly, Bowtie mirror, and glovebox door, and it is accompanied with an NCRS shipping data report, owner’s manual and sales brochure. Looking as ready to conquer the streets as it did when new from the showroom, this impressive Corvette looks like it is ready to be enjoyed for years to come.
