Documented with the tank sticker and ownership history back to 1973, this 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Coupe is a very rare big-block factory air coupe that was most recently in the care of a single owner who drove it approximately 400 miles during thirty years of ownership. According to the accompanying NCRS Shipping Data Report, it was produced on February 8, 1967, and delivered new by Ron Shafer Chevrolet in Anniston, Alabama. The car features a handsome mixture of Silver Pearl paint with a Black Stinger and a very nice, mostly original Black interior. In addition to the L68 Tri-Power equipped 427/400 HP big-block V-8, Muncie M21 transmission and 3.36:21 Positraction rear end, this solid driver’s machine was factory equipped with air conditioning, born-with factory side exhaust, power brakes, a telescopic steering column, SS brakes, Soft Ray tinted glass, AM/FM radio and Blackwall tires on Rally wheels. Now showing just 39,439 miles on the odometer, it is currently equipped with a code 3512 CE replacement 427 V-8 dated 1969, indicating it was likely a GM warranty short block and a replacement 4-speed manual transmission. The matching-numbers block, which is included with the car along with the original Muncie M21 4-speed transmission, has reportedly been hot-tanked, cleaned, magnafluxed, decked and broached. Described as an excellent performer “with great bones,” this rare factory air big-block Sting Ray coupe retains most all factory correct type components including the spare, F41 shocks, seat belts, washer system, shifter, shielding, braided wires, air cleaner, valve covers, carburetors, gas door assembly, Bowtie mirror, glovebox door, owner’s manual, sales brochure and two T3 headlights.
