Launched at Detroit in 2014, Chevrolet’s new Corvette C7.R soon chalked up North American Endurance Cup Series wins at Long Beach, Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport). Following victories scored in 2015 at the Daytona Rolex 24 and Sebring 12 Hours, Chevrolet launched the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition, honoring the on- track achievements of Corvette Racing and the C7.Rs built by Pratt & Miller and Chevrolet. Interestingly, the Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition debuted even before Corvette Racing won the GTE-Pro class at Le Mans in 2015. Just 650 were produced in all, including 500 for the U.S., all bearing sequential serial numbers, including this example, offered with just 842 miles on the odometer. All examples of the Z06 C7.R Edition carried the Z06 performance option, including a 6.2L/650 HP supercharged V-8 engine, suspension, brakes, aero and wheel upgrades, as well as the additional enhancements of the Z07 package, to create the ultimate Corvette when new. Equipped with an automatic transmission and electronic limited- slip differential, this C7.R Edition also features a removable targa roof and the 3LT and 3LZ interior/ trim option packages. Visual highlights include Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat paint, the C7.R Edition graphics package, a Brembo carbon ceramic braking system with yellow calipers, Corvette Racing center caps, visible carbon fiber ground effects package and hood section, plus Spectra Gray Metallic grilles and vents. Other highlights include front splitter end-plate extensions and a clear rear spoiler “Gurney flap.” Yellow stitching complements the Jet Black leather interior, which includes ventilated and heated seats. In addition to dual-zone climate control, an upgraded Bose premium audio system, Navigation, head-up display (HUD) and a performance data and video recorder, this incredibly well equipped Corvette includes power locks, mirrors and windows. Black wheels with yellow accent strips mount Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
