From 1984 through 1990, Summit Ford of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, offered special upgraded Mustangs under the Dominator GT name, putting itself at the vanguard of the 5.0 tuner Mustang movement just then beginning to take hold across the country. Customers could choose from three levels of tune ranging from mild to wild, the hottest version being described by Super Ford magazine as “the world’s fastest production car in the quarter-mile.” Enter one Jeff Yergovich, a lifelong Mustang enthusiast, also of Lee’s Summit, who had opened his own Mustang performance tuning and restoration shop, R&A Motorsports in 1975. After coming to national prominence in 2008 with a popular run of “Twister Special” Mustangs, Yergovich and his crew at R&A conceived a continuation of Summit Ford’s famed Dominator GT, choosing to add a V-6-powered version to the mix. With 210 HP on tap, there was still plenty of potential to coax out of the 2010 V-6 Mustang and, like the V-8 version, R&A specified three progressive states of tune for the V-6. The base L1 included a serialized VIN plate, decals and badging, Baer drilled, slotted and zinc-finished brake rotors, C-pillar scoops and rear spoiler, stripes and rear deck blackout panel, and cold-air induction. In full LS3 trim, the Dominator GT-6 also incorporates a ProCharger supercharger and full-length headers with dual exhaust. Finished in factory Dark Red with a black leather interior, this 2010 Dominator GT-6 is the original prototype, bearing R&A Serial No. ACV002. Built at the Flat Rock, Michigan, assembly plant and factory equipped with an automatic transmission, dual-zone climate control, cruise control and Shaker audio system, its conversion to Dominator GT-6 specification is completed by the substitution of Pirelli P-Zero radial performance tires on Carroll Shelby Wheel Company 20-inch alloy wheels. This superb limited edition 2010 Mustang Dominator GT-6 Prototype from the Larry Carrell Collection is offered with just 6,760 miles on the odometer, a fact reflected in its outstanding as-new condition.
