Production No. 1,571, this 30th Anniversary Trans Am is one of only 175 convertibles equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission and Hurst shifter. A two-owner car, it was sold new at Fiehrer Motors in Hamilton, Ohio, and has always been stored in a climate-controlled garage. Having led a hugely pampered life in its 21 years, the car has only seen 3,765 miles, keeping it in very close-to-new condition. Anniversary Trans Ams were very well equipped with power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, the WS6 performance package, power windows, power locks, a power convertible top, power mirrors, AM/FM stereo with CD player and graphic equalizer, cruise control and an ocean of other features, placing the car at the top of the food chain. This one will be sold with a paint-protecting bra and original floor mats. To celebrate 30 Years of Trans Am production, Pontiac styled 1,600 Trans Ams in Arctic White with blue stripes, anodized blue wheels and a dark blue convertible top; inside, white leather upholstery covered the seats and door panels. The entire look reflected on the original 1969 Trans Am, which was tailored very similarly. Only 535 convertibles were produced, the remainder being coupes featuring T-tops. Powered by the all-aluminum 346/320 HP LS1 V-8 with functional Ram-Air induction, there was plenty of power on tap. Extensive details are part of what make the 30th Anniversary Edition Trans Am so special—little touches that set it apart. For example, the “WS6” emblem under the right rear tail lamp lens is in blue, but look closely and you’ll see it also has an engine-turned reflective look. The headrests atop the front seats are embroidered with the blue Firebird and special lettering attesting to the car’s distinctiveness, a detail that’s repeated on the center cap of the wheels. In the right light, you might notice a slight blue tinge to the white paint, thanks to a special clear coat. And, by virtue of the fabulous LS1 V-8 engine and WS6 chassis appointments, these cars not only moved and handled excruciatingly well, but are also one of the most docile Trans Ams ever built for toddling around town or cruising the boulevard. And what a way to cruise the boulevard—stark white with blue trim, and one of only a handful made.
