An alternative to offerings from Jeep and International Harvester, the Ford Bronco was introduced hot on the heels of the Ford Mustang. Developed relatively quickly, the first- generation Bronco spanned from 1966 to 1977, always delivering steady, relatively consistent sales that hovered around 15,000 annually, making it a commercial success. The Bronco also allowed Ford to deliver more broadly on its moniker of “Total Performance,” taking the company off-road racing. This 1969 Bronco has been extensively modified from original, with its comprehensive, nut-and-bolt build wrapping up in 2020. Despite the modifications, the original Bronco body remains uncut and features all new sheet metal, painted entirely in Dark Blue. Backed by a new C4 automatic transmission, a new crate 302 CI V-8 with Pro Flo 4 electronic fuel injection, Edelbrock aluminum heads and Hot cam are nestled in the engine bay, with a new exhaust system with heat-wrapped, ceramic-coated headers and dress-up kit—including unique Bronco-branded valve covers—setting the scene. The V-8 takes advantage of a ram air system hidden in the shaved front bumper. One glance reveals the level of detail involved in the build, especially the interior, which uses barn door side panels and the original rear seat. Saddle Brown vinyl upholstery has been used to cover the seats, dash pad and door panels, lending a brightness to the otherwise darker motif. A lockable Tuffy center console has been installed between the front bucket seats, topped with a matching Saddle Brown armrest, while a new Classic Instruments gauge cluster provides the vitals. Passengers will love the Vintage Air and heater, stereo system with back-up camera, with sliding-side hardtop windows and a tilt steering column among other modern features. One interesting style nugget is the wind wing window delete kit, providing a cleaner overall look. Building on the darker image, and giving passengers some relief from hot weather, the windows have been tinted. Power steering will make the Bronco infinitely more enjoyable to drive, and a custom roll cage from Tom’s Broncos will make each journey safer while providing a great look and illumination, thanks to the built-in dome lights. A Legacy sliding soft top has been incorporated into the hardtop, and ingress-egress has been made slightly easier, thanks to retractable Amp running boards. A custom Bronco grille hosts modern headlights and builds on the classic Bronco’s updated looks. Rolling on new BF Goodrich TA off-road tires with Fuel Zypher wheels, the Bronco will be sold with a Marti report and restoration documentation including the receipts and build photos.
