As the ZR1 entered its penultimate 1994 model year, the super Corvette was little changed, with engine output remaining at the 405 HP level first seen in 1993. Representing a 30 HP bump over the 1990-92 ZR1, the 1993-95 cars benefited from an updated valvetrain and cylinder heads, and it now delivered a 179 MPH top speed. Supporting changes included 4-bolt main bearing caps, factory-specified Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil, platinum-tipped spark plugs and an electrical, linear-type exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system for reduced emissions. Handing the newfound power output from the 5.7L/405 HP LT5 32-valve V-8 engine, the ZR1 received new wheels for 1994. A new, non-directional, 5-spoke design, these wheels were unique to the ZR1 and not optional with the other Corvette models. The RPO FX3 suspension option now offered lower spring rates, and recommended tire pressures delivered a softer, more compliant ride for most Corvettes for ’94; however, the all-out ZR1 held the line with its more aggressive chassis specifications left unchanged. Options were streamlined for ’94, and by checking the ZR1 box, buyers automatically received C68 Electronic Air Conditioning, the AC1 Power Passenger Seat, AC3 Power Driver Seat, AQ9 Sport Seats, FX3 Electronic Selective Ride and Handling package, U1F Delco-Bose Stereo System with CD, UJ6 Low Tire Pressure Warning Indicator and a new, specially laminated “solar” windshield. With just two owners and 48 miles, this sinister black-on- black 1994 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is essentially as-new and retains the factory protective covers inside. In addition to all the aforementioned features included with the ZR1 for 1994, this stellar example includes dual removable roof panels and a blue-tinted transparent roof panel, still in the factory paper packaging. New-for-1994 alloy wheels included the Low Tire Pressure Warning system and mount Goodyear Eagle GS-C tires. A car cover and Ohio title document are included, as are the original window sticker, books inside their plastic wrapping, a 1994 dealer catalog, a laminated window sticker and a laminated build sheet, plus a shop manual. Featuring even more power and refinements that heighten the experience, this 48-mile 1994 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is a simply fabulous example and worthy of any fine collection.
