Like the 1961-66 Ford F-Series before it, the 1967-1972 F-Series offered a vast departure from the previous generation, once again ushering the brand into another, more modern realm. It was also considerably larger and more capable, offering an extra 3 inches of width in the cabin, a heavier frame, revised suspension geometry, a broad variety of engines and improved interior ergonomics. Many Ford F-Series aficionados consider the 1967 truck to be one of the most groundbreaking Fords ever built. Interestingly, it would be a one-year only truck with certain details being revised to meet new federal safety mandates for 1968. This F100 Custom Cab is unrestored and was bought new on February 8, 1969, at John Glass Ford in Westfield, Massachusetts. Having covered only 9,150 miles from new, it retains factory chalk markings, original fan belts and four original tires. Owned by one family from 1968 to 2008, it features a number of options such as the original two-tone Rangoon Red and Wimbledon White paint, which was metered to ensure originality, the optional 300/170 HP inline 6-cylinder engine, a column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission, an AM radio, heater-defroster, light package including a spotlight, interior package, chrome grille and bumpers with a trailer hitch, emergency flasher and more. Featuring an original Jewell camper top finished in two-tone white and beige, the F100 is outfitted for camping with an intercom between the cab and cargo area, a built-in flashlight at the rear of the shell, plaid curtains for the shell windows, and a paper towel dispenser. The red interior features a bench seat with patterned and striped vinyl upholstery, carpeting, padded dashtop and full instrumentation. Rolling on white steel wheels wrapped with Firestone Transforce HT tires, the truck will be sold with an owner ID booklet and a spare key.
