Built by the famed Roadster Shop in Mundelein, Illinois, this 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback is powered by a naturally aspirated Coyote 5.0L V-8 engine that’s been dyno tested to 423 HP and a 6-speed manual transmission. Original Mustangs weighed in around 2,600 pounds, so an engine like this will really propel the fastback with ease. To better harness the power of the Coyote engine, this Mustang was treated to an exhaustive custom build, complete with a Roadster Shop chassis with a multi-link, fully adjustable suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes with slotted, cross-drilled and vented rotors, custom Forgeline wheels and very wide, low-profile Michelin tires. The body has been revised with several subtle adjustments, one providing a slightly wider stance, and another blending the drip rails into the roof. A front spoiler sustains the Mustang’s custom look while helping air flow around the body, large black grilles, and a fairly large hood scoop that invites fresh air to help cool things down and feed the powerful engine. Sprinkles of brightwork, such as the bumpers, bullet-shaped sideview mirrors, integrated tailpipe exits, tail light surrounds and window surrounds all highlight the dark Midnight Blue paint. The black interior features Recaro bucket seats, three- point seat belts, carpeting, a customized dashboard with chrome-surrounded gauges, customized door panels, a Momo steering wheel and a center console with an armrest, cup holders and shifter. Certainly one of the most eye-catching Mustangs ever built, it’s certain to attract plenty of attention from both onlookers and passengers, thanks to the modern chassis, engine, transmission and interior with the supportive seats, center console and creature comforts.
