Unrestored with 11,400 original miles, this meticulously maintained and preserved Corvette is the lowest-mile 427 Corvette from 1966 known to remain in existence today. Retaining the original Code 974 Rally Red paint finish and Code 407 Red leather interior, it was completed on June 6, 1966 and features the original RPO L36 427/390 HP Turbo-Jet engine and highly desirable combination of factory options including the Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission, K66 Transistorized Ignition, 3.36:1 G81 Positraction rear axle, N11 Off Road Exhaust System, N32 Teakwood Steering Wheel, U69 AM/FM radio and tinted glass. Predictably, this Corvette has won a succession of accolades including Bloomington Gold certification, the Bloomington Gold Zzenith award, Bloomington Gold Survivor certification and Bloomington Gold Benchmark certification. It is also a four-time Top Flight Award winner and 5-Star Bowtie recipient from the NCRS. In addition, the Corvette won the Preservation Class at the 2019 Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance and served as the centerfold subject for the official event program of the 2020 Greenbrier Concours d’Elegance. Thanks to the car’s exceptional originality, it has been used multiple times to train and educate the world’s top Corvette judges, including the 2019 NCRS National Convention for Advanced Judging, where it was also photographed extensively to provide reference material for the organization’s 1966 Corvette judging manual. Historical files and binders are simply outstanding, including keys, ownership history, period photos, maintenance receipts and handwritten letters from the original owner, plus judging sheets, awards, ribbons and plaques, a CD containing digitized photos and documentation, and a 10-page document containing a breakdown of part and component numbers confirming the car’s matching-numbers status. Documents include the Protect-O-Plate, showroom brochure, window sticker, the original owner’s manual in its plastic pouch, original radio operating instructions and FM radio reception dash card, and a 1966 GM color chart.
