1969 DODGE DAYTONA 33,000 Miles, Broadcast Sheet One of the most unique examples of this special release in existence and documented with the original broadcast sheet and invoice, this car, like many of the carefully selected cars in Gary Edwards’ collection, is one of one. With an odometer that reads just 33,000 miles, this aero special was sold new through the Monroeville Dodge franchise in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. Only four Charger Daytonas were painted in rare Q5 Bright Turquoise Metallic paint, and this is the only one featuring a white wing and the premium C6W White interior. Like all standard-equipment Charger R/T models, which were the basis for the Daytona model, power comes from a 440 CI Magnum V-8 engine rated at 375 HP and equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor, Magnum callout air cleaner and dual exhaust that ends in chrome tips. This is backed by the A727 TorqueFlite transmission and the A32 Super Performance Axle Package, which included the Dana 60 differential with 4.10 gears and Sure Grip. There are power steering, power brakes with front discs, and the A32-mandated Hemi suspension pieces as well. Of course, the special Daytona parts are the biggest clue to what these cars were all about, but the cool color coupled to the white wing is brilliant, and that continues with the white interior featuring headrest bucket seats, a center console, floor shifter, R11 Music Master radio with 8-track player, dash with optional Tic-Toc-Tach and 150 MPH speedometer, wood-grain accents and a three-spoke sport steering wheel. The Charger name is in chrome trim inside and out, with the flip-top gas cap, chrome wheel-well moldings and remote driver’s side mirror also here. In the era of big tires, this car instead received the extra-cost, five-spoke Magnum 500 wheels and whitewalls tires, which prove to be an excellent complement to this very special, well-documented, one-of- one Charger Daytona.
