One of only 1,285 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertibles produced in 1960 and previously restored in New York, this 1960 Eldorado Biarritz was the pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity in its era. Cadillac has always been the flagship brand within the General Motors lineup, with the Eldorado Biarritz occupying the very top of the Cadillac food chain. The 1960 model-year body style was a tastefully restrained version of its 1959 predecessor, shifting the design language from flamboyant and overstated to that of understated and timeless. With an MSRP of $13,075, the Eldorado Biarritz was an expensive car. The car was subcontracted out to Pinin Farina of Italy for meticulous assembly, and the $13,075 MSRP reflected that labor-intensive build process. Visual differences in the Eldorado Biarritz were the application of polished stainless-steel trim running along the lower edge of the body and traversing the rocker panel, fender skirt and quarter panel. Additionally, thin, polished, stainless- steel trim that discreetly accented the upper and lower door and quarter panel area completed the presentation. The Eldorado Biarritz also featured exclusive polished stainless-steel wheel covers. The Eldorado Biarritz came factory equipped with just about every single conceivable option including—but not limited to—air suspension, air conditioning, an automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, a power convertible top, a fiberglass parade tonneau cover, six-way power seats, remote control trunk lock, a radio with antenna and rear speaker, and power vent windows. The engine was also upgraded on the Eldorado. Although it retained the same 390 CI V-8 block of the standard Cadillac lineup, its horsepower increased from 325 to 345 with the fitment of a triple carburetor manifold. The Eldorado was a car of grand scale, measuring 225 inches in overall length, 130 inches in wheelbase, 80 inches in width and weighing in at 5,058 pounds. This wonderfully restored 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz complements its white paint with a black soft top and black interior. Powered by a 390 CI V-8 and automatic transmission, it also features chrome bumpers, fender skirts, polished wheel covers and wide whitewall tires.
