By 2013, Bentley had won the 24 Hours of Le Mans six times in the past 90 years, four of which came in a row between 1927 and 1930. Following that came a hiatus that stretched all the way to 2003, when it took victory once more. To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of that racing accomplishment and earlier finishes, the company unleashed the Le Mans Edition Continental and Mulsanne in 2013. Crediting the successes to six drivers, John Duff, Dudley Benjafield, Woolf Barnato, Tim Birkin, Glen Kidston and Guy Smith, Bentley created 288 Le Mans Editions, 48 for each driver, in either the Mulsanne, the Continental GT coupe or the Continental GTC convertible, each identifiable by their own special colors and detailing. Continental buyers could choose a GT in either V-8, W-12 or Speed configuration, or the GTC with the V-8 or the W-12. This 2013 Bentley Continental GTC Le Mans Edition Convertible is fitted with the 6.0L/567 HP W-12 engine and an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Finished in Beluga Black paint, the Bentley is equipped with a matching black interior that is highlighted by dark, detailed aluminum and black veneers, all offset by brightwork and red stitching. This combination marks it as dedicated to Guy Smith, who, in 2003, drove a Bentley to finish fourth overall at the 12 Hours of Sebring, Bentley’s first North American race in more than 70 years. He followed up this victory with an overall win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, again driving a Bentley Speed 8. The GTC’s Le Mans Edition lineage is noted on the embroidered headrests, clock face, special winged badge and sill plates. Hosting an original MSRP of $263,120, the all-wheel drive car features 4-wheel disc brakes, adjustable suspension modes, special 21-inch 7-spoke wheels, power mirrors, power locks, power windows, a rearview camera and heated, cooled and power adjustable seats with memory. The car has new batteries and was recently serviced by a Bentley dealership, and it is accompanied by a battery charger, books, records and a build sheet from Bentley.
