Produced on December 28, 1966, and delivered new by Lappley Chevrolet in Oregon, Wisconsin, this two-top 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is a superb example showing a mere 36,898 actual miles, a number borne out in the car’s incredibly well-preserved overall condition reflecting the care of its owner of 29 years. Finished in Goodwood Green, its contrasting white stinger stripe and sculpted hood bulge denote the matching-numbers, original L36 427/390 HP Mark IV big-block V-8 engine hiding within, in this case mated to a 4-speed manual transmission driving a long-legged 3.36:1 Positraction rear end. Additionally equipped with factory side exhaust, upgraded stainless steel disc brakes and bolt-on finned aluminum wheels wearing 7.75x15 red-stripe tires, it boasts a complementing Saddle Tan interior featuring tinted glass, shoulder harnesses, an AM/FM radio and both a white soft top and a black vinyl auxiliary hardtop. The car has been the subject of a body-on restoration to excellent overall condition, showing a no-hit nose with grille tab still in place and careful attention to detailing throughout. This was the final entry in the five-year run of the second-generation Corvette and certainly the most refined in terms of both aesthetic appeal and improved performance and durability. This is a well-documented example offered with the original tank sticker/build sheet still in place on the fuel tank, an NCRS/GM Shipping Data Report, engine stamp affirmation from Al Grenning’s Classic Car Affirmation Service, owner history, the owner’s manual packet, photo documentation of the tank sticker and a 3-ring binder. The car retains most all factory-correct-type components, including the spare, floor mats, seat belts, washer system, shifter, shielding, braided wires, air cleaner, most hoses, hose clamps, ball joints, radiator, gas door assembly, Bowtie mirror and glovebox door. A superb collector-grade midyear Corvette by any measure, this 1967 big-block convertible is a prime candidate for NCRS and Bloomington Gold judging.
