Offered with exceptional documentation and the original matching-numbers drivetrain, this splendid 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe presents enthusiasts with the opportunity to own one of the rarest and most desirable of all Corvettes, one factory equipped with the incredibly potent L71 427 CI Mark IV big-block V-8. Identified by its Tri-Power triple carburetion system, the L71 used a forged steel crank, heavy-duty forged steel connecting rods, domed forged aluminum pistons, 11.0:1 compression, a high-lift, high-duration solid lifter cam, high- flow rectangular port heads and K66 transistorized ignition to produce an official 435 HP at 5,800 RPM. Delivered new at Normac Motor Co in Grangeville, Idaho, this 1967 Sting Ray coupe’s fascinating history begins with its odometer reading of just 37,160 miles. In February 1975, it was purchased by John Vram of Spokane, Washington, who promptly placed it in the party room of his split level home. It remained there for the next 29 years until his passing, after which it was carefully extricated and sold in his estate sale, at which time it was acquired by its current owner. A comprehensive restoration completed in 2008 included a comprehensive rebuild of all major systems, including the original matching-numbers 427/435 HP big-block, factory Tri-Power setup, the original matching-numbers M21 4-speed transmission and 3.70:1 Positraction rear end, original power steering and the suspension, brake and fuel systems. It’s refinished in the correct Marina Blue paint, its Bright Blue interior retains the original dash pad, door panels, headliner and AM/FM radio, and it features high-quality, correct Bright Blue leather seat covers and matching carpet from Al Knoch Interiors. Further optioned with a Soft Ray tinted windshield, finned cast aluminum bolt-on wheels with Firestone Super Sport redline tires and side-mount exhaust, this exceptional midyear Tri-Power coupe won the NCRS Second Flight Award at the Bend, Oregon, Regional in September 2008. It is offered with impressive documentation that includes the original tank sticker, General Motors VIN tag and trim tag, an NCRS Shipping Data Report, owner history, titles and registrations dating back to 1975 and NCRS 2nd Flight Award and judging sheets.
