Built as a Saleen replica, this 1992 Ford Mustang Coupe features a Saleen-style front air dam, side skirts, spoiler, rear valance and Saleen five-spoke, 16-inch wheels, with a five-lug conversion having been completed to accommodate the wheels. Powered by a 5.0L HO V-8 engine and 5-speed manual transmission, the Mustang is finished in base/clear coat black paint and shows 39,210 miles on the odometer. The interior is fitted with Corbeau seats for a more sporting, supportive experience and offers passengers the enjoyment of air conditioning, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, cruise control, intermittent wipers, a factory Dolby AM/FM/ cassette stereo system and a rear window defroster. Power steering and power front disc brakes make driving a cinch, while the tinted glass rounds out the overall noir look of this Mustang. For 1979, Ford reintroduced the Mustang on a whole new chassis known as the Fox body. The body was entirely restyled with a muscular, squared off and chiseled look with a raked nose. The chassis was a huge improvement over the outgoing Mustang II, offering better stability, road feel and handling. The Fox chassis was also engineered to be exceedingly buildable and able to accommodate considerably more power. Durable and dependable, Mustang coupes were employed by a number of law enforcement agencies around the country, most notably the California Highway Patrol, which, thanks to its rigorous testing program, proved the 5.0L Mustangs to be nearly impossible to better. By the early 1990s, the end was near for the Fox chassis in its original design, with 1994 ushering in an all-new Mustang using a modified version of the Fox chassis. Arguably, the 1987-1993 Mustangs have long been the most desirable of the original Fox Mustangs due to their refined interior and exterior design, powerful fuel-injected High Output 5.0L V-8 engine and, of course, a reputation for durability. The coupes have long been known for their lightweight nature and rarity.
