When the members aren’t at tending widespread events, they can be found raising money for the AACA Museum of Hershey, Pennsylvania, as well as for the Cadillac & LaSalle Club Museum and Research Center of Hickory Corners, Michigan. Dedicated to keeping the namesake and history of Cadillac alive and well, the CRCLC works in tandem with the museums by supplying donations. The Cadillac & LaSalle Club Museum and Research Center itself consists of collector cars, archives and artifacts and is open to the public seven days a week. As a whole, the CRCLC is an organization full of enthusiasts who wish to spread the appreciation of Cadillac and LaSalle to any interested party. Regional President Dowell is a prime example of the types of members of which the club consists. A fanatic of the Cadillac namesake since the young age of 7, Dowell was drawn to everything Cadillac related, from clipped advertisements to model cars and car shows; he even started a small “car wash” business in his adolescence where he would scrub the local beauties by hand. It is this sense of admiration that makes the CRCLC the success it is today, as it brings together anyone willing to celebrate “the best of the best” at any age. Aside from the camaraderie, the Carolina Region Cadillac & LaSalle Club offers a unique network for admirers and collectors alike. The organization focuses on creating a system where people can discuss technical difficulties that arise with their automobiles, find and gather needed parts for their machines, and have a group of specialized mechanics at their disposal for repairs. With a mixture of companionship and network-based collaboration, the CRCLC is a welcoming environment dedicated to every aspect of the collecting community. Devoted to the preservation of luxury vehicles, the Carolina Region Cadillac & LaSalle Club wishes to expand its membership and keep the namesake alive through word of mouth. Anyone interested in club updates or articles about local at tractions and events can read the “Carolina Chronicles,” CRCLC’s monthly newslet ter.
