The earliest car in the collection is a 1965 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible. Wearing Target Red paint, the car features its original 400 CI engine, 4-speed manual transmission and factory air conditioning. The BF Goodrich redline radial tires offer a great look in combination with the extremely rare Hurst wheels. Fast forward a few years and you’ll find a pair of 1969 Oldsmobile icons. One is a Hurst/Olds, which is one of only 173 examples produced with air conditioning. The matching-numbers 455 CI engine and TH400 transmission are still in place, as is the original Hurst Dual-Gate shifter. The other 1969 Oldsmobile is a W-30, which received a frame-on restoration and retains its original 400 CI engine and 4-speed manual transmission. A trio of 1970 models offers great variety: a Triple Black W-30 with only 32,000 miles on the odometer, a Platinum Metallic W-30 with 38,000 miles and a 442 convertible with special- order Rally Red paint. Next up is a 1971 Oldsmobile 442 W-30, this time in a vibrant, one-year-only Lime Green hue. This car is beautifully preserved, having only racked up a little over 15,000 miles. Within this collection, you’ll also find a 1972 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 in Viking Blue with a white interior. Anther gem from 1972 is the Hurst/Olds track-used Indy Pace Car, one of only 54 produced. It was a Goodyear giveaway car and still retains the dash plaque for authenticity. It also retains its original 455 CI engine, TH400 automatic transmission and Hurst shifter. The final car in the 1972 selection is a special creation that explores a hypothetical special edition. It’s a 1972 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser Station Wagon, and it’s outfitted with authentic W-30 equipment including the 455 CI engine with aluminum intake manifold, GA cylinder heads and a W-30-spec camshaft. Don’t forget about the cool W-30 hood and badges. The car features Astro Blue paint with white accents, and plush surroundings can be found inside, complete with an 8-track player and air conditioning. In addition to the 442 selection, the Joe Spagnoli Collection features several other cars. This includes an original 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado, a 1969 Pontiac GTO Convertible with cool 1970s styling and a 1972 Chevrolet Nova Yenko Replica complete with a 427 CI big-block. On the modern end of the spectrum, the collection includes a 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP track-used Daytona 500 Pace Car. The newest member of the collection is a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue, a special GM-built car that is known as the “last 442.” Whether you’re in the market for a cool driver, or a piece of muscle car history, this collection hits the high points of Oldsmobile’s high-performance days, and it’s all up for grabs at no reserve at the world’s largest collector car auction. The Joe Spagnoli Collection rolls across the block in Kissimmee, Florida, on Saturday, January 15, so check out Mecum.com to learn more about the cars in this collection and much, much more.
